Target audience

5 sections of narrative

1. Happy couple- bright colours/ bright lighting, watching a film together. 
2. Sadness- Something bad has clearly happened possibly indicated through black screen. Clear mood shift, dark lighting and sad facial expressions (both of them crying). 
3. In a dark room all we see is a bright computer screen reflecting light on to the man's face which is very serious and stern. On the screen is the girl's facebook page (start of the stalking).
4. Determination- we see the man running through the countryside, to get to the girl. Various cuts to the girl, going about normal life. Montage of photos of the two of them as the music builds tempo. 
5. Acceptance?- The man gets to the girl's house and looks through the window. Shot reverse shot of him looking through the window and the girl with a new mn looking happy and laughing (parallels to shot at beginning). Mise en scene dark outside, really bright in. He's really sruffy and sweaty and they just look happy.

Creative inspiration

First I went around and took photos of different things that made me feel creative.

Then I went back to the classroom where I listened to music (which always inspires me) and just doodled using bright colours. I know it looks a bit strange but being creative doesn't have to follow the rules; and so I just drew anything that came into my head.

Music Video Idea

Our music video will follow the idea of twisted love, with a man and a woman's relationship ending and the man descending into a stalker. Our locations will mainly include the countryside and maybe some scenes inside a house (Dani's House).

Time Management

So far I have managed to stay relatively on top of all my work for Media so far. Whilst I was slightly behind at the end of last week I have now managed to complete and upload all of the tasks on my workflow. The only thing I do need to get done is contacting the artist to ask for their permission to use their song; this, however, should not take long. It would also be useful if I could upload our audience feedback from our pitch that we presented on Tuesday onto my blog, but someone else has the recording.

Music Video of the week

My music video of the week is "Habits" by Tove Lo, a Swedish alternative pop artist. What I like about this video:
- The position of the camera which makes it look as if she is staying still and everything is moving around her, this makes the audience feel like they're drunk and creates a connection with the artist/character
- The quick jump cuts which connote the idea her life being disjointed and confusing
- The extreme close ups of different objects and parts of her face. This again adds to the disjunctive and  fragmented feel of the music video as it creates confusion with the non-linear narrative.
- I think the graphic match of the lipstick (at 0.33) to change between scenes is effective because it creates a smooth transition even though the location has totally changes. This is really clever and is something I could use in my music video.
- The sense of symmetry created through the same medium close up and location at the beginning and end, signifies the repetitive and unstoppable path her life is going. It also creates a cyclical feel to the video which is pleasing because it feels like it's come to the end.
